But there is news...

OK, I didn't think I would be posting again so soon (the same day!) But I just found out my class on getting to know your camera has been listed on the Coupeville Arts Center site at

The class is two Saturdays in October (13th and 20th) on Whidbey Island in Washington state. Here is the description of the class from theire website:

This class is intended for photographers who are working with cameras that offer manual adjustments (shutter speed, aperture, ISO). You don't necessarily need to be using a single lens reflex (SLR) camera. Many compact cameras offer a manual mode or a way to override the automatic settings. This class will teach you about these settings and why you might want to use one setting versus another. The principles taught apply to both film and digital cameras. Topics covered include aperture (F/stop), shutter speed, ISO, and lens selection. We will also cover auto exposure vs. manual exposure. This is not a class about general photography (composition, advanced techniques, etc.). It is about getting to learn about your camera to prepare you to take more advanced classes.

Thanks for taking a look!

  1. Heh, too funny on the timing -- of you apparently creating (or at least first posting to) your blog, and on announcing a class. Synchronicity is fun. :-)

Sounds like a cool class... I hope it goes wonderfully!
