Photos on Mount Rainier in August 2011

On friday evening I packed up a camera, lens, and tripod for a "quick" trip up to Paradise at Mt. Rainier with folks from the Cabiri performance group. Going into this I wasn't quite sure what to expect.

View from the car as we approached Paradise
We left Seattle around 4:30pm for the 2-1/2 hour drive. The day was already overcast, but that's what we were looking for (along with some snow). Things were lining up, we didn't even hit much traffic. As soon as we arrived at Paradise (a little after 7), we did a quick scouting walk to find the snow and a ridge line of trees in the fog. The temperature was quite mild and almost comfortable for the models.

Can't show you the images for the poster and mailer yet, but I will post them when they are published. In the meantime, here are some behind the scenes photos...

We got the fog we wanted. Now to go look for snow.

Have make-up brush, will travel!

I see snow up ahead

This is the poster and card that
resulted from this photo session
